Hunter Muench

Aloha! My name is Hunter Muench, and I am one of the advisors for the chapter! I am originally from Hawaii, but I grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia. My family now lives just outside Honolulu with our two dogs, Casey and Kona, and our koi pond with lots of koi (message me if you want to see the pond).

I am a 2nd year PhD student in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My current research focuses on using a Quantum Neural Network to learn circuits that can be used with current Quantum Computing setups. I did my undergrad in Computer Science Engineering and my masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering here at Michigan from F20 through W25.

I elected to the chapter in F22. From there I immediately got involved as the Publicity Officer for W23 and various chair positions such as Website Chair and Merit Badge Day Chair. I continued being involved as Publicity Officer for F23, Campus Outreach Officer for W24, and President for F24. I became an Advisor in W25 following my term as President. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to message me on Slack or email me! I am always happy to chat no matter if it is about TBP, EECS, or life!
